How Spray Foam Insulation Port Charlotte Works

Spray Foam Insulation Port Charlotte insulates and air seals homes, garages and metal buildings around Charlotte Harbor. We spray open-cell and closed-cell foam, blow in fiberglass and cellulose, and clear out insulation that has been soaked, crushed or contaminated, which after the last two decades of storms is a bigger part of the work here than in most places.

We start every job by looking. In a Charlotte County house that means getting into the attic, because on a block home built on a slab, the attic is where nearly all of the heat gets in. We measure the insulation that is there and check its condition. We look at the air handler and ductwork, which usually live in that same attic, and at the gaps where hot attic air leaks into the rooms below: around the hatch, can lights, bath fans, plumbing and the tops of interior walls. We also look for signs of roof leaks, wet decking and anything a past storm left behind.

Then we explain the options and write them down. In some houses the best plan is spraying open-cell foam under the roof deck to bring the attic and its ductwork inside the cooled space. In others, sealing the ceiling and blowing in more insulation does the job for far less. When both would work, the quote shows both.

How we work

  • Look before pricing. We do not quote a house we have not seen.
  • Write it all down. Each area gets material, thickness or depth, target R-value and price.
  • Fix water first. Roof leaks and wet decking are flagged before foam goes on.
  • Seal, then insulate. Ceiling leaks are closed before new insulation covers them.
  • Keep it clean. Floors, furniture and the path to the attic are covered and protected.
  • No surprise changes. Anything that changes once we start is agreed in writing first.
